Running with Jesus.

Run, run, run, run.  I ran three miles yesterday.  I don't feel stiff today.  I guess I am getting in shape.  Oh, I still need to lose about 25 lbs, but I always gain a few when I start running in the spring and it comes right back off later in the summer.  I have been running for a few months.  I love it.  It is a time when I can talk to God and Jesus.  I feel like it makes me sane to get away from the house for a bit.  My mom called it her "sanity time".  On Sundays, I take long walks.  I think I will backpack Jenny today.
I've got a huge Garden in.  The corn and beans are popping up.  I let the kids plant their garden.  It'll be a darling haberdashery of plants (and other "seeds"  -no matter how much I tried to explain, they still think that flower petals are seeds that will grow new flowers.  :)  )  They are wonderful little helpers.  It's hard to imagine life without my kids running and getting a bucket or a tool I need.
Today's Bible thought...."Jesus is the way, the truth and the light" & No one gets to the Father except through Jesus Christ.  Tell your family, your friends, your neighbors, and those who despitefully use you.  It does make a difference, even if it's hard sometimes.

Rainy day groceries....

I broke through a couple of my freebie cloth bags and decided to turn a couple of old t-shirts into bags this morn before I went grocery shopping.  It was less than 5 minutes for 2 bags.  Talk about easy button!  I sewed up the bottom and cut off the arms and the neck.  Easy peasy.  Anyone with a sewing machine can do this project.
Goal status:
I excercised, I ate at the bell again(oops), I will read the bible at dinner, I did not write in the blog over the weekend, I picked up my shoes, I shopped at ALDIs (very frugile), & I am still planning a painting day.

My bible study...
One of the great things about our heavenly Father is that He is very
consistent. God does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:16-17). As
children of God we can constantly rely on our wonderful Father in heaven.

Keeping up my goals

So I did good yesterday.
I kept promises, I ran 1st thing, I read the bible, I lived frugily, and I put my shoes in a bag at the bottom of the stairs, of which I did not trip over!  I may not have eaten perfectly.  But that is hard to do at the bell.  I did eat cheaply, though.  And, I totally made up for it with a large salad at dinner.
I am going to start reading a chapter out of the bible at dinnertime with the family.  If we ate breakfast together, then I would like to read it to everyone then.  But alas... we don't do breakfast together, so dinner will suffice.  I will begin in Ephesians.  I'm adding a goal to the list, not a hard one, but a upright one.  I am going to post a biblestudy I recieve (from my friends the Brown's) on here everyday.

BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER

As our children grow up we need to teach them the importance of choosing
their friends wisely. Our children have to know when they can follow and
when they need to be a leader. This also holds true for us as adults. We can
be corrupted just as easily as our children can. Therefore, we need to choose
our friends wisely.

1 John 3:7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does
what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.

We have to realize that when we surround ourselves with ungodly people, it's
just a matter of time before we become corrupted. This is something our
children also need to know. If a person is a true friend, they will have your
best interest in mind and try not to lead you astray. Although, there could
be cases where a person might not realize their behavior is corrupt. When
this happens, we need to be bold and inform this person of what he or she is doing wrong. And if they don't stop, then you will not be able to be with this person.

Psalm 119:115 Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of
my God!

Titus 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted
and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and
consciences are corrupted.

Sometimes people don't even know that their behavior is bad. Why don't
they know? Because they have never been told or taught the right way to
behave. By speaking up and taking the lead hopefully they will follow you
and you can lead them straight to Christ. Speaking up in these types of
situations is not easy. In fact, you will probably have to step out of your
comfort zone to do it. But, by being bold, you might just be able to bless
someone who needs to be blessed and help them get their life headed in the
right direction.
Now I'm not saying you shouldn't be with these people when your
intentions are to be a good witness and share the Word of God with them.
But, if their behavior continues to be corrupt, then you need to be very
careful that you don't get caught up in sin.
God bless all of you in the name of Jesus Christ!

Um, ok so I was busy.

Promises promises. I said I would make a list of goals here yesterday, and did I? Nope. Shame on me. I can even keep a promise to myself.
Goal #1 Keep Promises
Goal #2 Only set goals for what I can handle
Goal #3 Excercise Daily (my body keeps creaking)
Goal #4 Eat Healthy (this one is so hard for me) I love food.
Goal #5 Read the bible daily
Goal #6 Live cheaply
Goal #7 1 oil painting a month-for myself (thanks brit ♥ )
Goal #8 Put my shoes away. (I keep tripping on them at the door)

That's it for now. Sorry about the delay, not that anyone is really reading this blog.

I'm not sure why I'm writing a blog.

So, I don't really know why I am writing a blog. yes, I know I just repeated the title. But, I'm not! So, maybe I need to accomplish some goals..... It seems kinda motivational.....Telling the whole world everything about me, then whole world wanting me to accomplish something, yada, yada, yada.... This might be too much pressure. No, I really need to do this. I really do feel like my life is not my own.....like the "man" is controlling me. I shouldn't. I stay at home with the kids (2 & 4). I don't feel like we have any financial stress, I have a loving marriage, I love and speak often to God and yet I still feel like there just isn't that much to life. The whole world works all day long, comes home, eats dinner, gets the kids to bed, gets online, and then goes to bed. What am I trying to accomplish here? I guess....if I have some goals and do some cool stuff, then I would feel like I was interesting. Or something. But my "worldly" goals are all there. We are building a house ourselves, I ran a diaper business out of the home, I feel like I am an outstanding mother (the only "homework" I've ever cared to do), I have a often messy but happy little home in the country complete with giant garden and old maple trees and I often talk to God. Man, that does sound like a cute little life I lead. Like something out of "Little House on the Prairie" or something. (Only I have high speed internet, and a cell phone.) I'll think on my goals. For now, I'll just promise to write in this little blog for a while. Ok, how about 30 days. It's probably best if I'm specific.
